Northeast Art Center - Northeast Michigan Arts Council To present, develop and facilitate an enriched environment of artistic and cultural activities in its service area of Arenac County.

The Northeast Art Center offers many programs - art camps, programs for children, musical guest artists for both children and adults, quilt shows, and our annual Sweetheart Ball dance. In addition, we hold a yearly auction to support Art Center programs, sponsor the Arenac Choraleers and the East Shore Wind Symphony. Calling all young artists aged 8 - 13 years-old! Enrollment is open for our 2025 Youth Fine Arts Camp. We have openings in Drawing & Painting, Mixed Media and Performing Arts. This year in Performing Arts we have also included instrumental music, as well as theatre, dance and vocal music. The instructor is traveling from Nashville, TN to be with us this year and it should be a blast. We are gearing up for our 2025 Youth Fine Arts Camp, slated for the week of July 21 thru 25 at the Northeast Art Center in Standish. Registration is open for 8 to 13 year-olds to participate in week-long classes. Students must choose one class: Drawing & Painting, Mixed Media or Performing Arts. Hi Everyone! We're very busy at the Northeast Art Center getting ready for our Victorian Tea Parties slated for Friday and Saturday, June 13 and 14 at Noon each day. Tea Sommelier Angela Strach-Gothardt will present an interesting program titled "The World of Tea" where patrons will participate in tea tasting. Patrons will also experience a scrumptious "High Tea" luncheon to round out the afternoon. Tickets are still available at $25 per person for this Art Center fundraiser. The Arenac Choraleers will conclude their 43rd holiday concert season on Saturday — December 14, 7:00 p.m. at Standish-Sterling Central High School with a repertoire of popular Christmas music that should be familiar to everyone. Saturday ~ October 26 is the last day for Coats for Kids distribution at the Northeast Art Center, 3233 Grove Street Rd. in Standish from 9 a.m. to Noon. Coats, hats, gloves and scarves are available in sizes 0 to 18+ to children who are in need of these items. Since manufacturer brands differ so greatly in sizing, please bring your children with you to ensure their winter coat is a good fit. This is a reminder that the Northeast Art Center is distributing free coats, hats, gloves and scarves to Arenac County children who are in need of these items on two Saturdays: October 19 and 26 from 9 a.m. to noon on both days. Garment manufacturers do not use uniform sizing for clothing, so please bring children with you to assure they receive the right size coat. Known as the Midwest's premiere jazz and blues vocalist, her music is poetry, story, laughter, drama and celebrating the moment.
