Who knew?“ Walking around Detroit during my lunch hour always seemed to end up in an art gallery…or at least with me looking wide eyed at pieces though the wonderful enormous windows. I was enthralled, and it was just the intro.” Jane Fornero Hansen grew up in Detroit, and graduated from Wayne State University with a BA in Journalism, Radio and TV. Her career was focused in Marketing and Management and even briefly as an college instructor. She knew that communication was an art, her work in Radio, TV, and Press had been something she long excelled in. Art proved itself to be another form of communication that she notes with a wily smile, just lasts longer. That was the beginning of the days of collecting. Jane fervently acquired art pieces from painters and artisans for her growing Fine Art collection. She would even purchase some masterpieces on lay away, determined to have the ones that spoke so much to her. “I never knew that my collection would be so diverse and have such an impact on my life.”

In 1998, Jane was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, a condition that affects the central nervous system and can make daily life painful and frustrating. I wanted to do something constructive, positive, something that would make the fibro not be so overwhelming. She decided she needed to do more than collect art, she needed to create it. When she moved to Fort Worth in 2006, Jane met European Master Grigor Aleksi, of Studio Sabka Fine Art Gallery who became her mentor. Grigor helped her focus and capture her talent. In the last few years, Jane has developed her style with increasing passion. She continues to keep her style fresh by continuing to learn new mediums and techniques. Her favorite subjects are people and landscapes. “It’s their eyes. You feel like you are invited in; they share something of themselves. Same with the mouth. I like capturing that moment for forever.”

Jane believes art can be found in everyday things and that paintings should take you somewhere, evoke a memory or inspire relaxation. In 2009, Jane became a member of the Fort Worth Community Arts Association. Her fine art now can be found on display at various galleries in Fort Worth. For Jane, life is too short to give into the things that dishearten us. Each day can be more vibrant than the next when you find the things that bring you life and do them with excellence. “Live fully, live vividly.”

Where do you spend the most time? Does the art in that room actually reflect how much time you spend there?

The spaces we use most deserve the most thought.

On my mind lately: "Morgan Spirit"

Here is a question worth sitting with: what do you actually see when you walk into your own home?

Not what is there, but what do you still notice? What draws your eye?

What have you stopped seeing because it has been there so long?

"Stasche" and the online art gallery is here, if you need to switch things up.

There is a format that changes how a work reads on a wall, not just how it looks, but how it feels in a room.

Metal prints have a clarity and a presence that is different from anything else.

No frame is competing for attention. Just the work, direct. It is a format worth considering if you want something that holds up over time.
