. This collection of Pullman silverware, which is seen here laid out in preparation for cataloguing, was donated to the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania by the estate of Robert G. Manette. The pattern, called "Roosevelt," was a stock pattern made by the International Silver Company. The Pullman Company used this pattern for their dining car service from the 1920s through the 1950s, and each piece is stamped "The Pullman Company" on the back of the handle. This collection includes examples of dinner knives, dinner forks, teaspoons and tablespoons. https://www.rrmuseumpa.org/donations-of-artifacts

Over the years, restoration — housed in a specially-constructed restoration shop — has grown into a major program, with a small team of employees, substantial volunteer support and some outsourced tasks. Emphasis is placed on restoring historic railroad equipment to designated standards of appearance and material, balancing cosmetic authenticity with practicality.

S. military personnel and up to five family members. This year’s program begins on Armed Forces Day, today, Saturday, May 16, 2026, and ends on Labor Day, Monday, September 7, 2026. Happy 60th birthday year to the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania’s Conrail boxcar No. 244039. Pullman Standard built this high cube car in 1966 in their Bessemer, Alabama shops for the New York Central Railroad, as one of an order of 30. It passed to the New York Central’s successor Penn Central in 1968, and then to Conrail in 1976.

Conrail rebuilt and renumbered the car in 1986 and subsequently transferred it to their Philadelphia employee training center in the late 1990s for use as a teaching aid. No. 244039 was donated to the Museum in 2007. https://www.rrmuseumpa.org/our-trains
