The Walter F. Ehrnfelt Covered Bridge is a prominent landmark in Strongsville, located on Whitney Road where it crosses the East Branch of the Rocky River in the Mill Stream Run Reservation.Key details about the bridge include:Recent Reconstruction: The bridge underwent a major reconstruction starting in March 2024 to replace its structurally deficient wooden frame with a new, taller red structure that provides 15 feet of clearance. The project was completed in late 2024.History: Originally built in 1983, it was named after former Mayor Walter F. Ehrnfelt and was notably the only covered bridge in Cuyahoga County at the time.Annual Events: It is the site of the popular Breakfast on the Bridge event hosted by the Strongsville City Club.
