Meet our Belsnickles! What is a Belsnickle, you may ask? Well, imagine a lot of fur and a lot of beard all wrapped in a long woolen coat. In his back pack are thin branch switches, but in his pockets are candies. “Have you been good or have you been bad?” he’ll come to ask at Christmas time. Your behavior and your answer might get you a piece of candy… or “the switch”! Though a Pennsylvania German folk figure popular at Christmas time, our Belsnickles are also available in neutral colors for year long display. Welcome to the first ever page of the “Gift Shop at Quiet Valley Living Historical Farm.” Here we will showcase items in our shop so you can check out what is new and also see the beautiful work of our artists and crafters. Beginning on June 17, 2023 on Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. the shop is open both to the public and to guests touring the farm. Stop and shop any time the museum is open! Located in a nineteenth century log cabin on the farm, you will find beautiful hand made items, Quiet Valley merchandise, whimsical toys, books, and accessories. Our shop is definitely a one-of-a-kind stop! Come help us celebrate our 60th anniversary this year with limited edition T-Shirts, sweatshirts, and custom designed stickers.
