Old Sturbridge Village, the largest outdoor history museum in the Northeast, depicts a rural New England town of the 1830s. Marvel at more than 40 original buildings, including homes, meetinghouses, a district school, country store, bank, working farm, three water-powered mills, and trade shops - all situated on more than 200 scenic acres. Visitors can meet heritage breed farm animals and interact with authentically costumed staff. Hey members! The member presale for Christmas by Candlelight at Old Sturbridge Village is now underway. Members can:

"I was benevolent and good; misery made me a fiend."

Victor Frankenstein's famous Creature, portrayed by Sam Urdang in Phantoms by Firelight: Frankenstein Encounter, was assembled from exhumed human remains and abandoned by his creator just hours after his first breath. He secretly teaches himself language, philosophy, and empathy. Although he is described as beautiful, he is shunned wherever he goes once others discover the truth of his origins. Repeated rejection slowly transforms his gentle nature into one driven by vengeance.

C***r was a very common drink in nineteenth-century rural New England. 🍎 Many farmers had orchards in addition to their farmland, and they would take their harvested apples to a local c***r mill for processing. They would take the resulting juice, or “must,” home to ferment in barrels. The final c***r would be 4% to 8% alcohol and would keep from the time just after it was made through the spring planting, summer heat, and into the next apple season.

"I feel as if I were walking on the edge of a precipice... William and Justine were assassinated, and the murderer escapes."

Elizabeth Lavenza, portrayed by Paige Majewski during Phantoms by Firelight: Frankenstein Encounter, is the orphaned daughter of an Italian nobleman, adopted into the Frankenstein family at the age of five and raised with the expectation that she would one day marry Victor. Gentle and moved by the natural world, she never loses her sense of morality. She marries Victor at last, but tragedy strikes at the hands of the Creature before their happiness can last.
