If you have eagle eyes, you may have noticed some new decor up around Sturgeon Bay...
In honor of America’s 250th anniversary and the Heritage Alliance of Door County's celebration of Door County’s History Days, Sturgeon Bay Historical Society has launched the Old Sturgeon Bay Advertisements Project. With the help of Door County Library, dedicated volunteers including Niki Kaftan and Anne Parker revived over 30 local advertisements from the late 1800's and early 1900's. Blown up to highlight original details, these ads are currently displayed at a variety of businesses in downtown Sturgeon Bay, providing a glimpse into a past life by honoring the former residents of the various storefronts.
In addition to the nation's birthday, the Granary is also celebrating its 125th year with original Teweles & Brandeis advertisements like this one. Stop by for a visit during our operating hours, 10am-3pm Wednesday-Sunday, and see if you can spot all of the others!
