Before you visit any of the historic lighthouses in Door County visit our museum and discover the incredible history and stories behind each of those sentinels along our shore! We have a full size recreation of the Sherwood Point Lighthouse light room, with the original 1883 Fresnel lens in it in the Buamgartner Gallery, and the Green Bay Harbor light on floor 7 of the Maritime Tower!
From lives saved, to lives lost, the stories of our keepers will leave their mark. Then go visit a lighthouse in person and be amazed at how they did what they had to.

STEM students at Sturgeon Bay’s TJ Walker Middle School competed in the Door County Maritime Museum’s Cardboard Regatta program Friday. Some genius use of hot glue proved to be somewhat valuable to one team! Many lessons of displacement, weight distribution, structural engineering as well as plain old type approaches all@played a roll. All learned and all had a blast.
