SO excited! My personal pick for the season! Don't miss Skerryvore!! Peg Egan Sunset Concert Series presents Scottish award winning band - SKERRYVORE

SKERRYVORE - will take the stage at the Peg Egan Performing Art Center’s Sunset Concert Series. This concert series, free to the public, and always a favorite with Door County locals and visitors alike, takes place at the Peg Egan PAC on Church Street in Egg Harbor on Sunday, August 11 at 7:00 P.M.

Twice winners of Scotland’s Traditional Music ‘Live Act of the Year’ Award (2016 & 2011), SKERRYVORE have been on a meteoric journey that has taken them from the remote Isle of Tiree on to International tours that have included performances in Central Park NYC, The Ryder Cup Louisville and the Shanghai Expo, China.
SKERRYVORE create a unique fusion of folk, trad, rock and Americana that represents all the different personalities and upbringing of the 8 band members who hail from different regions of Scotland.

Formed in 2005, the band marked their 10th anniversary in 2015 with a ‘Decade’ concert at Mossfield Stadium, Oban. After selling 3,000 tickets in ninety minutes, the capacity was increased and 6,000 visitors from all over the world enjoyed SKERRYVORE, joined by a host of guests including Dougie MacLean and legendary Irish musician Sharon Shannon.

The success of the Decade concert led to the creation of the band’s own annual festival, Oban Live that has now attracted over 10,000 attendees to enjoy international acts including KT Tunstall, We Banjo 3, Julie Fowlis and Capercaillie alongside SKERRYVORE.

2017 saw the release of the single Live Forever that provided the soundtrack for the Scottish tourism promotional campaign ‘Wild About Argyll’ and saw the single hit No.1 in the iTunes World Music chart. This was followed by the launch of the Live Forever Tour that has the band performing over 70 shows in the UK, Italy, Spain, Denmark, Netherlands and the United States.

2018 will bring the release of SKERRYVORE’s 6th studio album accompanied by a global tour that will include a headline performance at the legendary Tonder Festival, Denmark.

The Guthrie Brothers – Simon & Gargunkel Tribute to play at the Peg Egan PAC

The Guthrie Brothers will take the stage at the Peg Egan Performing Arts Centre’s Sunset Concert Series. The concert series, free to the p***c and always a favourite with locals and visitors alike, takes place at the Peg Egan PAC on Church Street in Egg Harbor on Sunday, July 21 at 7:00 P.M.

Jeb Guthrie and Jock Guthrie, The GUTHRIE BROTHERS, knew the first time they played a Simon & Garfunkel song that they had a natural and almost spiritual connection to it. “Our voices seemed to blend effortlessly into that S & G signature sound, and the overwhelming audience reaction to our first tribute performance confirmed our feelings,” Jock says. “Since that first performance, we’ve worked to perfect our tribute to these two amazing artists.”

The New York-based musicians perform this tribute with startling authenticity in an “unplugged” acoustic style. The brothers have been singing together for as long as either one of them can remember-–a major reason for the perfect blend of their harmonies. Both men play acoustic guitar and sing.

“The music that we play is truly an extension of who we are,” Jock says. “Our philosophy is to do songs that we feel directly connected to, and we can trace these connections back to shared experiences and feelings from our childhood in Green Bay, Wisconsin.”

“We think this is the reason we can be so faithful to the spirit and sound of whatever period or type of music we’re playing--including our own music. We play together as one,” Jeb says.

The Guthries’ original music received national attention with the release of their self-titled, debut album. The album garnered extensive airplay on both Americana and Country radio stations. About the album, Billboard magazine said, “Many stations will find the well-written, heartfelt lyrics and wonderful harmonies a welcome addition to their airwaves." The album has been re-released and can be heard and purchased online at the iTunes Music Store.

The Guthrie Brothers will be in concert at 7:00 p.m Sunday July 21at the Peg Egan PAC, located in Eames Cherry view Park on Church Street, once block east of Wisconsin 42, Egg Harbor. The outdoor amphitheatre and the park offers sweeping landscapes and sunsets over the harbor, with room for 3,000 concert goers. All the free concerts in the series takes place at 7:00 p.m Sundays.
There are no seats, so concertgoers should bring blankets or lawn chair. Carry-Ins are allowed. Admission is free. In case of rain, this show will move to the Calvary Methodist Church, 4650 County E, Egg Harbor.
