black & white prismacolor pencil, 4” x 6” on Canson Pastel Paper
He was most famous for “Gone with the Wind” but he starred in over 45 movies, with all of the leading ladies of his era. I drew this for fans of black and white cinema and classic portraits.
I wanted to show the stark contrast between the paper’s texture and the white against black shades - simple yet clean. At this point in my young career as a I was delving into quick sketches and creating a portrait for clients on a daily basis.
