The Arts HQ Gallery is one of the West Valley’s premier exhibition spaces located in the heart of Surprise, Arizona. The gallery is focused on providing innovative, diverse, and intentional art experiences that are educational and accessible to all people. Each exhibit is thoughtful and carefully curated, working with both emerging and seasoned local artists who seek to engage communities with mea

ningful work. Our exhibits are free and open daily to the public; primarily relying on the generosity and support of sponsors, donors, patrons, and all who recognize the importance of the arts. The Arts HQ Gallery executes 6 - 8 exhibitions per year as well as various performances, festivals, and open air markets showcasing the talent and creativity of individual artists, musicians, performers and artisans. Additionally, the gallery hosts a myriad of community events, workshops, and lecture series promoting education, healing, understanding, creativity, and wellness. West Valley Arts Council and its Arts HQ Gallery is located in the heart of Surprise, Arizona, just a leisurely stroll away from Surprise City Hall, Ottawa University, and the Surprise Baseball Stadium, which is the Spring Training home of the Kansas City Royals and Texas Rangers.

"Using my hands to heal is my service to humanity, which includes my Stone of Light memorial artwork.” Daniel creates hand sculpted bas-relief designs from byproduct plant fiber powders, and sometimes crematory ash. The medium has the appearance of carved stone. It is hand-sculpted on stretched wood framed canvas and dried on a flat surface. A collage of natural objects is installed into the soft medium after sculpting with pottery tools, then painting with acrylics. Leaving it natural earth, plant or spiced colored is another option. Each piece is sealed with an acrylic clear coat. “Enhancing my work with sand, glass, stones and metallic finishes makes a dimensional contrast on the sculpted surface. My medium is composed of non-endangered sustainable plants, wood, flowers, earth and stone.”
