Located at 4 Whitcomb Road in Swanzey, NH, Covered Bridge Primitives specializes in hand-painted works, in both primitive and folk art styling, as well as 100% handmade soaps & beeswax creations. As a married adult, I was seeking a way to stay home with our sons when they were young without abandoning my creative self. Oils required too much “waiting” to dry, so I began playing around with acrylic
paints. My foray into self-taught painting has resulted in Covered Bridge Primitives. From my humble beginnings in 1985, I have worked diligently to develop my own unique and specialized techniques for painting, aging and finishing. Most paintings are done on wooden surfaces, but occasionally Iʼll venture into the arena of painting on glass or metal. My penchant is for designing primitive and folk art pieces. I have a special love for yesteryear, apparent in my home decor antique and unusual pieces. My dream was to eventually publish some of my original artwork, as well as to open a brick and mortar gift shop. In 2004, I began publishing original work, and eventually have been published in three national magazines. With the help of my husband, we also designed and opened a gift shop which is full of my offerings, as well as my handmade soaps, bath and body products, and poured beeswax creations. Our shop is located in Swanzey, New Hampshire. I have been married since 1977 to Mike, my perfect match. We have raised two sons, Daniel and David. We have since welcomed two beautiful and delightful granddaughters, Isabel and Elizabeth. We feel so blessed to have such a wonderful family. Please enjoy browsing through my website and learning about all of our products. I welcome any comments and questions you may have. I appreciate you taking the time to take a look, and perhaps Iʼll see you sometime in our gift shop.
