Quick & Dirty Boat Building Competition

Quick & Dirty Boat Building Competition Quick & Dirty Boat Building Competition occurs every year at the Tacoma Maritime Fest. Teams of 2-3 collectively build and race an original boat.

Teams have six hours and a selection of materials to build their floating devices. The boats are then raced for top speed. Boats are judged on appearance, seaworthiness, originality, among others. The highest scoring boat will be awarded the stunning Grand Prize Trophy to be displayed at the Foss Waterway Seaport Working Waterfront Maritime Museum until the following year. Proceeds benefit the Youth Marine Foundation.
