Hello teacher friends! We know spring break is coming, but when you return, why not plan a trip to the museum? We welcome all ages of school groups and our museum truly has something for everyone! ☺️

Exciting news everyone! We will be hosting a snake show on Friday March 20th at 7pm! This event will be at The Tallapoosa Cultural Arts center for quest's convenience, with much more space! :)
Please join us for a fun night of learning and lots of SNAKES! 🐍🐍🐍

Today the museum board was successful in installing the jail cell they acquired from the old jail in Tallapoosa! It looks amazing and we can't wait for you to come and see it!
We are also in need of law enforcement artifacts and any other artifacts that would work in our newest exhibit. :)

Sharing a bit of local history on a treasured past citizen of Tallapoosa, Mrs. Betty Jo Newman. Mrs. Betty Jo was, (among many other things) a local historian and the very first curator of West Georgia Museum . These photos show when she was crowned queen at Tallapoosa's Centennial Celebration, back in 1960. Reportedly 10,000 people came to town to enjoy all of the festivities.We've been busy sprucing up her exhibit today giving her a pink showcase fit for a queen. ❤️
