Step into the psychological labyrinth of 'Puppet Master' by , where anxiety takes corporeal form in burning oranges and crimson reds. Two female figures emerge from this chromatic inferno, locked in an eternal dance between protection and vulnerability. C. Lizardi masterfully constructs this visual fever dream without literal puppet strings, understanding that our deepest manipulations come from within. The mixed media layers bleed through like suppressed emotions fighting for recognition. What internal forces do you feel pulling your strings in daily life?

Step into the primordial depths with 's mesmerizing 'Into the Cave.' Using actual Florida beach sand mixed with Modge Podge, they've created an authentic cave wall texture that transforms their canvas into an archaeological wonder. Silhouetted figures reach toward flickering flames while mythical beings populate this imagined cavern, painted in rich ochres and siennas that feel both ancient and urgently contemporary. The layered acrylics settle into every crevice, mimicking how prehistoric pigments would have clung to rock surfaces thousands of years ago. What stories do you imagine these cave dwellers are telling around their eternal fire?

In the haunting depths of 'Blood Diamond,' artist Richard Sele () transforms scratchboard into sacred testimony. Each deliberate scratch reveals portraits floating above hands that cradle earth's most cursed treasure. Through painstaking technique where every mark is irreversible, they mirror trauma's permanence while luminous inks breathe life into devastating beauty. This piece doesn't just hang on walls - it witnesses, remembers, and refuses to let us look away. What do you see when art becomes both monument and mirror to our world's darkest truths?

In 's haunting "Siege of Sarajevo," razor wire transforms from Olympic symbol to instrument of division. Richard Sele masterfully layers delicate scratchboard work over documentary photography, creating a visual archaeology where trauma lives in both historical time and eternal present. The sepia-toned stadium above speaks of absence, while carved figures below emerge from darkness through meticulous crosshatching that mirrors survival itself. What do you think art's role should be in preserving difficult historical memories?

In the haunting intimacy of scratchboard, captures a Himalayan mother and child emerging from absolute darkness like figures stepping into light. Each deliberate scratch carves away shadow to reveal layers of resilience, while a single yellow flower in her hair defies the monochrome world with quiet rebellion. Richard Sele's mastery transforms limitation into liberation, working in reverse to mirror the very act of survival depicted. What stories do you see hidden in the shadows of this powerful piece?

In the haunting depths of "Pazuzu," artist Richard Sele () transforms scratchboard into a portal of psychological excavation. Pale eyes burn like twin moons against an achromatic nightmare, while wild hair cascades in chaotic torrents across an otherworldly face. The most unsettling element? That sickly green emanation from the mouth - the sole chromatic intrusion suggesting words that should never be spoken. Each scratched line becomes an archaeological dig, revealing light buried beneath darkness in a process that mirrors our own journey through shadow and illumination. What draws you most to art that explores the darker territories of human experience?

In 'Vacation Time,' artist transforms black cats from symbols of superstition into icons of pure leisure and domestic bliss. These feline figures lounge in beach chairs with pearl necklaces, tend barbecue grills with focused attention, and inhabit a world where vacation stretches into eternity. The mid-century aesthetic creates a masterful subversion, placing our most superstition-laden creatures in the most wholesome, aspirational context imaginable. What does this enchanted realm of perpetual sunset and golden light say about our relationship with the creatures we fear?

Against an infinite black void, five spectral figures emerge like fever dreams in Richard Sele's haunting masterpiece 'The Four Horsemen.' Using innovative scratchboard techniques with scalpels, X-acto knives, and even tattoo needles, transforms darkness into light through hundreds of precise cuts and marks. Each pale form seems to breathe with malevolent life, pushing the boundaries of what scratchboard art can achieve. The result is mesmerizing - a surface that pulses with its own inner glow. What emotions does this piece stir in you when you look into that consuming darkness?

In .artwork's haunting masterpiece 'Life Goes On,' death transforms into the most generous beginning imaginable. A golden ribcage floats against an ethereal turquoise sky, cradling a pink rose that blooms with accumulated love while monarch butterflies dance through this sacred space of transformation. The artist's surgical precision in color choice creates an otherworldly sanctuary where mortality becomes a vessel of hope. What do you see when you look at this piece - an ending or a beautiful beginning?

Let’s have a discussion. As many of you have noticed, our accounts have been posting the artworks that have been submitted and/or shown at our gallery in the past. We’ve done this to celebrate the many artists who contributed to the culture and space House of Shadows held in the Tampa Bay art community.

This is being done for free as an extension of our service as gallerists and for the promotion of the artists. We take no commission from any sales that result and we’re excited about giving people a last glance at some of these works that were sold. We receive complimentary and thankful comments each day from the artists.

To date, we’ve received 2 messages from artists who want us to exclude their work for different reasons. So, we’d like to ask our community what it thinks about our new posts and what ideas you have for helping us to celebrate all the beautiful works that we have the ability to showcase again in this digital medium.
