Beverly sets up just outside the gallery on the sidewalk and paints portraits for 30 minute seatings. She does some really wonderful likenesses of her subjects.

A Frenchman, Claude Nahmani, who is traveling across the USA by motorhome is doing a blog about his trip and has posted about his visit to Taos, NM back in May. Some of the favorite things he saw were Sherry Housley's Native American Bronze Warriors at The Thomas Gallery! He states that he adores them and wishes he had a place in his luggage to take them with him. ;-)

“Northern New Mexico Churches, Deserts, & Gourds” ~ An Introduction and Reception for Geraldine Liermann.

Geraldine Liermann has immersed herself into a study of the high desert plains. The desert plants, the monastic structures and the gourds which lend themselves to show off the same themes in flat as well as rounded forms and interestingly twisted shapes. With many colors in her palette she brings the barren scenes to life within the well-defined lines of her subject. Far from bland she decorates the red earth and the adobe walls with colorful flowers and bright sunshine, much like her own pleasant and optimistic personality.
