Mingo.
Bob “Mingo” Mingus was a Vietnam Vet whose colorful life story reads like a Hollywood movie. Mingo served in the Army’s elite 101st Airborne Division the ‘Screaming Eagles’ as a paratrooper in the Vietnam war. In 1980 he moved to his great grandfather’s farm in Taylor, Wisconsin to recover from his injuries. Mingo knew how to fight, and was himself a 1969 Golden Gloves champion in his home district of Oshkosh. He was asked to teach some boys to fight and soon became a boxing coach and mentor for the youth in Taylor. The boxing team: ”Mingo’s Manglers” went all the way to win a National Silver Gloves championship. He is remembered in Taylor with awe and respect for his incredible spirit and for his service to our country and community.

Photo of Alfred, Oscar and Joseph Waller (left to right), in Madison, Wisconsin was taken on January 1918…they were there to enlist.
