Looking for something fun and unique to do this summer? The Dan Moody Museum is pleased to announce extended summer hours, giving more visitors the opportunity to explore one of Taylor’s historic treasures.

In addition to our regular Friday hours of 2:00–5:00 p.m., we will be open on Saturdays from 11:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. from June 13 through the end of July.

Come step back in time as you tour the beautifully preserved Moody home and learn about the life and legacy of Governor Dan Moody. Admission is always free, although donations are graciously accepted, and visitors of all ages are welcome.

Happy 133rd Birthday, Governor Moody!

Texas has had only 48 individuals serve as governor, and we're fortunate that one of them was a proud Taylorite. Dan Moody was born and raised in Taylor, lived at the corner of 9th and Talbot, and graduated from Taylor High School before going on to become Governor of Texas.

Today, we celebrate his birthday and the remarkable legacy he left for our community and our state.

What a wonderful day it was today at the Moody Museum. Bricks are being put in place awaiting the statue of one of Taylor’s heroes, Governor Dan Moody. The unveiling is Saturday at 2:00pm. Can’t wait!!!!!

It's always a great day at the Dan Moody Museum! Today, we had the pleasure of hosting the Bodine family, who shared many wonderful stories while learning more about the Moody family. It was a delightful visit filled with historical anecdotes, meaningful conversations, and a shared appreciation for the past.
