Folsom House Tour this lovely 1855 frame home in Taylors Falls' Angel Hill district, a New England-style village. Folsom moved his family to Taylors Falls in 1850.

In November 2001, the remains of Mary Jane Folsom's maple tree was cut down. It would have been planted after the Folsom house was built in 1854. Another maple was planted in its place, but it died within a few years.

What a fun surprise! Today, during Christmas at the Folsom House, the very first caretaker, LuAnn Nordeen, and her daughter came to see the house. LuAnn’s family lived here and gave tours from 1968 to 1976. What a treat to walk through the home and hear their recollections!

Pictured are the current and first managers: Alyssa Auten (L) and LuAnn Nordeen (R)

Just a few blocks from the Taylors Falls Overlook is the historic Folsom House. For 113 years, the home constructed by William Henry Carman Folsom in 1855, has stayed in the family. It’s now a museum and photojournalist Bill Middeke checks it out.
