The Christian County Coal Mine Museum welcomed some very special visitors today! 🌎

We had the honor of hosting guests who traveled on the Central Illinois Coal Labor History Tour, all the way from Chile to visit our museum. This meaningful visit was coordinated by the University of Illinois, bringing Chilean coal miners’ wives and daughters to learn more about Illinois coal mining history.

The Christian County Coal Mine Museum had the pleasure of welcoming the Taylorville High School CEO Class this week!

Fifteen students, led by instructor Neil Hohenstein, toured the museum with Director Chuck Martin and explored the rich coal mining history that shaped our community.

The Taylorville Tornadoes Boys Basketball team beat the Pana Panthers with a 57–42 victory tonight to keep the Coal Miners’ Trophy in Taylorville! 💪🏀

This special tradition was founded by Will Stone, founder of the Christian County Coal Mine Museum, to honor the proud coal-mining heritage shared by Taylorville and Pana—and the hard-working men and women who built these communities. ⚒️🖤
