Join us tomorrow night. May 14 by the Art Association of Rutherford!
It’s that time of year again… and if you’ve been before, you already know why people circle this night on their calendar.
Join us for our 36th Annual Critique Night:
• 📅 May 14th
• 🕢 7:30 PM
• 📍 55 KIP Ave, Rutherford (KIP Center)
This isn’t just another meeting. This is the meeting. The one where the room fills up, conversations get real, and the work on the walls starts to feel different by the end of the night.
We’re opening the doors to the public for an evening built around growth, connection, and honest, encouraging conversation about art.
We’re excited to welcome back Kayt Merckx, a returning favorite known for thoughtful, supportive critiques. With a background in Fine Art and Special Education, Kayt focuses on what’s working, what can grow, and how each piece can get stronger.
How it works:
Bring up to two pieces of family-friendly artwork (no nudes, including academic or political works). You’ll have the chance to share your work, talk through your process, and receive feedback from both Kayt and fellow artists. We’ll start with one piece per person, then circle back if time allows.
This is a positive, respectful space. We’re here to build each other up. Come ready to learn, share, listen, and grow.
Whether you’re:
• A seasoned artist refining your voice
• Just starting out
• Or someone who simply loves being around art
You belong here.
You don’t need to bring work to be part of this. Some of the most valuable moments come from listening and observing. These nights spark ideas, build confidence, and create lasting connections.
And yes… it’s free.
Bring your art. Bring your friends. Or just bring yourself.
This is one of the most anticipated nights of the year for a reason.
