There is a story behind every piece of art. Shelia shares the story behind “Penny’s Sunflower” …

“This watercolor painting, which I completed in 2019, went to its new home recently. Sometimes a painting stays in the gallery for a while, admired but not sold, and then one day someone walks in and has to have it. I feel I painted it just for them!
The sunflower and the year 2019 represented a significant change in Penny’s life. We both agreed that I painted it “just for her”.

A flashback this Friday to the day Karen and Ted stopped in to the gallery when they moved to Tellico Plains … Karen shares the memory:

“Having only just moved to Tellico Plains, we were enjoying the shops in our sweet, new little town Upon entering Shelia’s shop, we were taken aback by the beautiful, eclectic, one-of-a-kind pieces she had for sale! Jewelry, cards, and of course her gorgeous paintings! As you can see from the painting in our home, we had a special space for "Mr. Bear," as we lovingly call him. We were so enamored with the painting AND with Shelia; it was an honor to bring him home to live with us She features other local artists as well and we also purchased a smaller print of ‘The Plains!’ Both pieces have made us feel perfectly at home in Tellico!”
