Telluride Historical Museum Located at the top of N. Fir, we preserve and share Telluride’s history through engaging exhibits and programming.

The Telluride Historical Museum offers far more than artifacts under glass. Aside from a visit to our Museum, join Telluride locals for one of our Fireside Chats, take a Telluride Afoot audio walking tour, read Harriet Backus' Tomboy Bride or take a hike into the high country in celebration of our rich history.

This is the . Savage Basin was the location of some of Telluride's most lucrtative mines, including the Tomboy mine. Eventually this basin became the home to the town of Tomboy and served as one of the most historically important locations of mining in the San Juans.
