Today we have a rare and exciting opportunity – a chance to preserve a piece of the history of Bedford Township that possesses a unique heritage with far-reaching implications for the future of our Community. This historic 1 ½ story pioneer log cabin at 10488 Secor Road on the Vollmar property, was built in the 1830’s and is possibly the oldest surviving, and surely only intact Last Pioneer Cabin

remaining in Bedford Twp.; however, time and the elements have noticeably taken their toll. Mayer and other concerned individuals have generously provided the start-up funding to begin the task of preserving the Last Pioneer Cabin. Your assistance is requested to help us see this project through and make this cabin an asset to our Bedford Township, Monroe County, Southern Michigan Community.
