The Thomaston Upson Arts Council awarded the Fifth Annual Dr. Keith B. Huckaby Scholarship Grant to Meredith Olive.

The scholarship, which totals $1,000 is awarded based on applicants’ prior work in the fine arts, as well as other extracurricular activities.

Applicants were also required to write an essay on how the arts have enriched their lives.

Meredith will be attending Columbus State University this Fall to study Early Childhood Education.

Camp registration and auditions are just 2 weeks away! TUAC will be offering two theatre camps again this year!

Our SUMMER THEATRE CAMP is for individuals who love to perform! This camp is for students K thru 12th grade and focuses on everything needed to perform a musical.

If you would like to audition for a LEAD role please choose from one of the following songs to sing at auditions:

Younger kids - Hakuna Matata or Just Can't Wait To Be King

Older kids - Circle of Life or Can You Feel The Love Tonight

Our TECHNICAL THEATRE CAMP is for students 6th-12th grade who want to learn about props, set construction, lighting and sound. They will serve as the backstage crew for LION KING JR. No audition is required but you must register to attend.

ATTENTION ‘26 SENIORS!

You are invited to apply for the 5th Annual Dr. Keith B. Huckaby - TUAC Scholarship Grant for 2026.

Simply go by the TUAC Gallery at 201 South Center Street to pick up an application. Deadline for returning your application is Tuesday, May 5, 2026 by 5pm. No submissions will be accepted after this date.

* Scholarship grant is for $1,000.00.

* If, in the opinion of the scholarship committee, there are two or more equally qualified students, the grant may be divided.

* The grant is for students who have demonstrated an interest in and dedication to music, visual, performing or other fine arts, or to the technical aspects of theater arts. The student does not have to be studying one of these areas at the next level.

* The grant is to be used for tuition, course materials, gas, housing, etc. related to the costs of college or technical school.
