It’s about finding beauty in the mundane and transforming it into something uniquely yours. Whether you love writing, sketching, collaging, or simply exploring your creative side, junk journaling is the perfect way to reflect your story.

Join us for this quarterly Junk Journaling collaboration between the / Craft Club at Barnstone Gallery / Frederick CUUPS

The Creative Alchemy Labs is currently working on a book binding station - where you can learn about a variety of stitched, stapled, post, and folded bindings - with instructional handouts and supplies to bind you’re own mini junk journal.

🎨 All are welcome! This is a donation-based event (suggested $15–$30), designed to be inclusive and accessible to everyone.

Feel free to bring a sketchbook or journal you already enjoy working in, along with any personal supplies you’d like to personally use. That said, there’s no need to bring anything—just show up with a sense of curiosity and an open heart!

A craft supply buffet will be available for you to create from and feel free to bring any supplies you’d like to share and/or donate.

As the nights grow longer, let’s use words to find light in the darkness while embracing National Writing Month. 🖤✨

Blackout poetry is a beautiful practice of turning old pages and found words into something new, uncovering hidden messages and truths in unexpected places.

While the Black Out Poetry and Collages with Old Book Pages session of Craft Club at Barnstone Gallery in Thurmont, MD this Sunday is sold out - you can still join Lauren at Solara Roots in Boonsboro, MD on Friday, Nov 15 for the Gratitude Collages for some fun.

Or you can try at home - find an old book page or newspaper, grab a marker, and see what story emerges from the shadows.

💡 Prompt: Choose words that speak to you about transformation, loss, or letting go. What story does autumn want to tell you through your blackout poetry? Embrace the mysteries of the season and allow the words to reveal themselves.
