Wilson River Pottery opened on March 5th 2010. Andy has been a potter since high school. He started making pots in 1976 and now... is an old hand at pottery. He brought Me, Tami (wife) into the roll as the studio cleaner and apprentice and I moved quickly up that line to... GLAZE QUEEN! Though, I still have to clean the studio... hum....
Our pottery is all hand made right here on the Oregon Coast (Tillamook Forest to be precise). Each piece is stamped on the bottom with a kitten paw. It represents our kitty FIG. FIG - stands for “Found In Garbage”... which she was.
Our pottery is food safe, oven safe (don’t put a cold dish in a hot oven... warm it with the preheat). Microwave safe (but don’t be dumb about it.... heat to warm your cup of coffee... don’t put a bowl in the microwave with frozen corn in it... you will fracture the glaze before the corn gets hot). Use your NOT handmade pieces for that job. Our pottery is serving ware. It will last a long long time if you care for it. It is dishwasher safe.
