Nature's Hidden Secrets Family Adventure at the Bickett-Rate Homestead. Join Sarah Subbert, Cedar County Conservation Educator and Marsha for a walk through the woods with Sarah as our guide. This is a fun family event. All ages are welcome but children under 8 must be with an adult. We'll meet at the house at 3 p.m on Sunday, June 7 . The North Cedar 2nd grade students stopped by CCHS to tour the Village for their spring field trip. They stopped a minute to watch the swifts building their nest. If you can't watch the live stream on your device or don't have internet, stop by the Museum where we will live stream these fascinating birds on the Bickett-Rate Swift Cam 24 hours a day. cedarcountyhs.com

The nest building has begun! There are a couple of twigs affixed to the chimney. The swifts will continue to build their nest even when there are eggs in it. Make sure to check back to see the progress and in about a week, we should be seeing the first egg laying!

Chimney Swifts aren’t the only thing you can see on the livestream. Last night, we caught an image of a mouse in the tower. The camera also has audio enabled and you can sometimes hear the wildlife around the tour.
