Join us for the opening reception of Disabled Women Make History (and Art) — an annual collaborative exhibition presented by the Toledo Museum of Art and Disability EmpowHer Network.
This powerful exhibition celebrates the creativity, lived experience, and leadership of disabled women and nonbinary artists from across the country. In 2026, the exhibition expands into a month-long installation in the Museum’s Education Hallway, creating more access, deeper engagement, and greater visibility for the artists and their work.
Opening in recognition of Disability Pride Month, the exhibition honors the legacy of Lois Curtis and Elaine Wilson, whose advocacy helped affirm disabled Americans’ right to live in community.
Be among the first to experience the expanded installation, connect with the community, and celebrate artists shaping history through their work.
