Is this some new kind of scam people are trying to pull on Facebook Marketplace? This is the 2nd time I've seen an ATV listed pretty cheap, and when I ask the seller about it, they reply telling me they set the ad up for someone else and give me an email to contact that other person.
The 1st time this happened, I sent an email to the person and she offered to send the ATV to me at no charge, and to let me try it out for 5 days and return it if I didn't like it, or pay for it if I do like it. Sounds too good to be true, but I don't know how they plan on pulling off a scam that way. Fortunately the idiot didn't stick to their storyline (first she was working for a job that was transferring her out of state, then later she said she was in the military & was being deployed overseas). That was enough to trigger my "Spidey senses" and I stopped responding.
Now I get this one from somebody else about another ATV. I haven't gone any further because I have a feeling it's another scam. How does this s**t work out anyway, I mean do they suddenly say they need money to ship it to you even tho they say shipping is already paid for? Has anybody else seen this kind of scam or know anything about them?
