Artist Spotlight: Karl Johnson

We’re so happy to have Karl Johnson’s beautiful handcrafted furniture here at Long Lake Gallery and Gifts!

Karl has a real love for creating mid century modern furniture, and you can see that passion in every piece he makes. With clean lines, timeless style, and thoughtful craftsmanship, his work is made to be enjoyed for years to come.

When Karl isn’t in his shop working on his latest creation, you’ll probably find him enjoying one of his other favorite things, fly fishing! There’s a good chance he’s somewhere along a Northern Michigan river, hoping to finally catch “the one that got away!”

We love having local artists like Karl as part of our gallery and sharing their work with our community. Come visit us and see Karl’s furniture in person. You may just find the perfect piece for your home!

NEW ARTIST | Jan Bower

We’re proud to feature the work of Jan Bower, a longtime artist with deep roots right here in Long Lake Township.

Jan’s love of painting began as a child, watching her mother paint at her easel in their family’s farm home. More than 60 years later, Jan has created thousands of beautiful oil paintings, from portraits to scenic landscapes, and has illustrated 17 children’s books in her gentle, realistic style.

Jan has also spent 35 years teaching drawing and painting, sharing her love of art with generations of students.

Her work is a wonderful part of the artistic history and talent we’re lucky to have right here in our community.

Stop by Long Lake Gallery & Gifts to see Jan’s work in person!
