For those that dont know, we had the pleasure of meeting Russ for the first time 3 years ago on November 30th 2023.

HOLY SMOKES… 800 FOLLOWERS!!

Well, would you look at that!!!

Our little Cheshire Railroad Depot in Troy, New Hampshire, has officially reached 800 FOLLOWERS!

When we started this journey, we had a dream of preserving a piece of our town's railroad history and sharing the stories of a time gone by.

Never did we imagine how many wonderful people would climb aboard and become part of this adventure!

From restoring our historic Depot to bringing Boston & Maine Budd RDC #6154 home to Troy, every milestone has been made even more special because of YOU.

Your encouragement, visits, shared memories, photographs, and kind words mean more than you could possibly know.

And, of course, Hobo would like to personally thank all 800 of his fans. Apparently, he thinks this is HIS page!

From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU for believing in what we're doing and for helping keep railroad history alive.

800 friends aboard… and the journey is far from over!

WHO NEEDS A TRUNK WHEN YOU'VE GOT A TRAIN?
CLIMB ABOARD FOR A HALLOWEEN TREAT!

This Halloween, we're putting a railroad twist on the traditional Trunk or Treat!

The Cheshire Railroad Depot invites all our little ghosts, goblins, witches, superheroes, princesses, and everyone in between to climb aboard our historic Boston & Maine #6154 for a Halloween treat!

Saturday, October 31st
9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Cheshire Railroad Depot – Troy, NH

Dress up in your favorite costume or just come as you are!
We'll have candy for the kids and a little Halloween fun aboard our beloved #6154!

And who knows? Hobo, our official Depot Dog, might just be there to greet all our little trick-or-treaters.
Of course, he'll probably expect a few belly rubs in return!

No tickets needed, no admission fee, just a little Halloween fun and railroad magic for the whole family!

No tricks, just treats!

This copy of a Cheshire Railroad timetable from June 30, 1890, offers us a wonderful glimpse into a time when the railroad was more than just a means of transportation. It was a lifeline connecting small New England towns to a much larger world.

Imagine standing on the platform at the Troy Depot in 1890, hearing the distant whistle of an approaching steam locomotive. The excitement of passengers arriving, families saying their goodbyes, and travelers beginning journeys to destinations near and far.

From Bellows Falls to Keene, Troy, Winchendon, Fitchburg, and Boston, the Cheshire Railroad helped shape the communities along its route.

And look closely at this timetable! Sleeping cars, drawing-room cars, and connections to destinations as far away as Montreal and St. Albans. What an incredible era of railroad travel!

For railroad enthusiasts and history lovers alike, documents like this are treasures. They remind us of a time when the railroad brought opportunity, commerce, adventure, and life to towns like our little Troy, New Hampshire.

136 years later, the trains may no longer stop at our Depot, but their stories are far from forgotten.

And that is exactly why we work so hard to preserve the Cheshire Railroad Depot and its history.

Because history isn't just about remembering what once was. It's about keeping those stories alive for generations yet to come.

FOUR YEARS AGO TODAY… A DREAM WAS MAKING HEADLINES!

Four years ago today, the Cheshire Railroad Depot was featured in The Boston Globe. We were interviewed about a dream, a vision, and what some might have considered a rather ambitious undertaking — bringing Boston & Maine BUDD RDC #6154 to Troy, New Hampshire.

At the time, it was just that… a dream.

We had a vision, determination, and a group of people who believed that something extraordinary was possible.

Looking back today, it's almost hard to believe how far we've come.

From preparing the ground and laying track to watching #6154 finally arrive in Troy, every step of this journey has been filled with challenges, accomplishments, laughter, a few frustrations, and memories we will cherish forever.

And along the way, something wonderful happened.

What began as a mission to preserve a piece of railroad history became so much more. It brought people together, created friendships, inspired conversations, and gave new life to a little railroad depot in Troy, New Hampshire.

Four years ago, we were talking about what we hoped to accomplish. Today, we can look around and see what we've accomplished together.

None of this would have been possible without our incredible volunteers, supporters, donors, and everyone who believed in our vision, even when it seemed a little crazy!

And while we have come so far, our journey is far from over.

There are still stories to tell, history to preserve, and memories waiting to be made.

Four years ago, we had a dream. Today, that dream sits proudly on the rails in Troy.

And just like #6154, our journey isn't over yet.
