Our Grand Prize design has been reproduced as the 2026 Tucson Birthday commemorative postcard, while the other winning designs have been reproduced as commemorative cachet envelopes.

Celebrating Our 2026 Young Artists!

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of celebrating the talented young artists of the 2026 Tucson Birthday Art Contest at our Awards Ceremony!

Our finalists were recognized in three age groups: 5–8, 9–12, and 13–17. It was wonderful to bring these young artists and their families together and celebrate the creativity, talent, and different perspectives they brought to this year’s contest.

Congratulations to all of our finalists!

A special thank you to our families, volunteers, sponsors, and contributors who helped make this year’s contest and celebration possible.

What a wonderful morning celebrating the talented young artists of the 2026 Tucson Birthday Art Contest!

Thank you to all of the students who shared their creativity with us, the families and friends who came out to celebrate, and our volunteers who helped make this year's contest possible.

Fall 2026 Internship Opportunity!

The Peggy J. Slusser Library at the Postal History Foundation is looking for students interested in an on-site internship in Tucson this fall.

This is a great opportunity for MLIS students interested in gaining hands-on experience with libraries, archives, special collections, digitization, exhibits, and educational programming.

Thank You, Young Artists! 🎨🌵

Thank you to everyone who participated in the 2026 Tucson Birthday Kids Art Contest! We were amazed by the creativity and talent shown in this year's entries.

Finalists have now been notified by email and mail. If your family participated, please keep an eye on your mailbox over the next few days, as every young artist will receive their artwork back along with a small token of our appreciation.

Thank you to our incredible community of volunteers at the Postal History Foundation for helping select this year's finalists. We can't wait to celebrate them on August 20!

A heartfelt thank you to every student who submitted artwork for the 2026 Tucson Birthday Art Contest. We are truly inspired by the creativity, talent, and pride our young artists have shown in celebrating Tucson.

Over the coming days, our wonderful team of volunteer judges will carefully review each entry. Winners will be notified by email and phone once judging is complete.

All participants will receive notification of their contest status, regardless of the outcome.

Thank you again to our students, parents, teachers, and educators for making this year's contest such a success. We can't wait to celebrate our talented young artists!

"July 4, 1776: Interpreting the Moment Through Postal History" explores how Americans have commemorated the nation's founding through stamps, First Day Covers, and postal history over the past 250 years.
