Our community is invited to a Posada Navideña on Tuesday, December 16th at the Sullivan Center. The Posada commemorates Mary and Joseph’s journey to Bethlehem and search for shelter for Jesus’ birth. See below for details.

The Tukwila Historical Society Holiday Party is this Saturday, December 13th, from 1 to 3 pm at the Historical Nelson House. Come and mix and mingle with us, and tour this historic home in Tukwila. Bonus -- you can earn tickets for our free raffle and you don't have to be present to win.

November Historical Society Meeting!

Wednesday, November 19th at 7pm is our next Historical Society meeting. Topics include updates and planning for the THS Christmas party which will be at the Nelson House.

Also on the agenda is a discussion of 2026 activities and events.

Yesterday THS President Kathy Hougardy and Society member Jane Ho hosted a table at the UW Museology Partners Fair. The UW Museology graduate program focuses on museum studies.
As part of their curriculum students must do a certain number of hours of internship. Several students showed specific interest in a future internship at the Tukwila Historical Society.

The Tukwila Historical Society Trick or Treat event was a success! The children were asked a question about Tukwila history and were given a full-sized candy bar for their effort. Thanks to all who participated!

Trick-or-treating is only six days away! As you enjoy Halloween in the Tukwila neighborhoods, remember to add the Tukwila Historical Society to your route. We're at the Old City Hall building and will be handing out full-sized candy bars Friday evening between 430 and 730pm. See you there!
