Nestled in the rolling hills of northeast Mississippi, Tupelo is the "go-to" town of a rural, but eclectic, region of the United States. It was here at this confluence of cultures (black and white, Baptist and bootlegger) where Elvis Presley sprung to life, born here, singing on the Mississippi Slim show and getting his first guitar at Tupelo Hardware when he was 12 years old. Tupelo's greatest fa

me is certainly Elvis and there are a number of original places from his past...from his Birthplace, to the church he first attended (and where he first sang), to Tupelo Hardware where one can stand on the exact floor where he first placed his hands on a guitar...to the little-changed Johnnie's Drive In where he used to hang out with his friends...it's all still here. There's also the Tupelo Automobile Museum where you can find cars from every era and take in special exhibits on motorcycles, mustangs and more. The Tupelo Buffalo Park is home to a number of exotic animals as well as one of the largest herds of buffalo east of the Mississippi. Tupelo also boasts a regional mall and a cute downtown with plenty of neat little places to shop and eat. We're right between Memphis and Birmingham on Hwy 78 at the intersection of Hwy 45 and the beautiful Natchez Trace Parkway (indeed, the Parkway Headquaters and Museum are located here) making Tupelo an ideal destination or stop over for any trip through the American South. Tupelo is also known worldwide for its sense of hospitality. We hope you'll come see us and get a taste of true Southern Hospitality while you visit the birthplace of the King of Rock and Roll. Posts are now brought to you by the one and only Memphis Jones!
