The Consumption, BFA Solo Senior Exhibition by Angelina Joseph
Exhibition: May 4-8.
Reception: May 7, 6-8pm with artist talk at 6.30pm
From the artist:
We take, we use, and we consume. It's in our nature as people to take for granted the things we have, the people in our lives, and the time we have with them. We have them until suddenly, one day, they’re gone. My work reflects this by centralizing people and objects within intimate spaces, grappling with the aftermath of grief. With this current body of work, I am focusing more on the consumption of time and how we choose to spend it when it's so fleeting. I use oil and acrylic on canvas with an emphasis on texture, along with referencing other artists' works as a tool to further my concept. I hope my art can be a reminder for others to be grateful for who they have in their lives and the time they get with them.
