The Red Thread: Stories of Connection
February 7 - March 14, 2026

In many traditions, the red thread is a quiet symbol of connection, something unseen that links people, moments, and lives. It may stretch or tangle, but it never breaks.

The Red Thread invites artists to consider connection in ways that feel personal and true: between people, within communities, with the natural world, across generations, or within ourselves. What threads shape us? What ties remain, even when tested or unseen?

Intake Dates: Friday, Jan 30 through Sunday, Feb 1, 2026 12 to 4:00 pm
Entry Fees: Members: $10 per entry - Non-members: $20 per entry
All media welcome.
Please be certain all work is wired or otherwise ready for hanging in a gallery setting. Three dimensional work must stable.

It is with great sorrow that the Glashoff family announces the passing of metal sculptor Phillip Glashoff on December 21st, 2025. Phil passed peacefully in his sleep after a months long illness.

There will be a memorial in the spring, to be announced at a later date.

CELEBRATE THE SEASON with Vacaville Art Gallery!

Receiving art December 5, 6, 7 noon to 4 pm

Entry fee: Up to 3 pieces per MEMBER for no fee. Two pieces if the work is large. We may have to limit this number as space allows.

Non- Members - $20 per entry.

All media welcome! Open theme but themes of celebration (of any kind) appreciated!

Work must be wired or otherwise ready to hang.

What a wonderful way to meet the artists of The Art of Death at The Vacaville Museum

Please join us at the Vacaville Museum in conversation with the artists that put the art in The Art of Death. Spanning media, subject matter, and approach, the pieces in The Art of Death demonstrate the complexity of grappling with the topic of death in the creative process.

Moderated by Bridgette Rex, Executive Director of the Latino Center of Arts and Culture in Sacramento, CA, this panel will explore the artistic process, finding solace in creativity, and representations of death in arts and media. The conversation will begin with a moderated discussion, followed by an open Q&A with the audience.

Hi there!

Apologies for the late notice — it’s been a busy week! But I’ve put together a super fun watercolor project for tomorrow (July 3rd), and I’d love for you to join me if you’re free.

Location: Vacaville Art Gallery
Time: 2 Separate Sessions
12:30 - 1:30 pm and 2:30 to 3:30 pm
Cost: $10 per 1 hr session

PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN ART SUPPLIES

Vacaville Art League and Gallery

We’ll be painting a vibrant cluster of poppies — loose, expressive, and beautiful! We’ll sketch them freehand (don’t worry, it’s easier and faster than tracing — you’ll see!). Honestly, the hardest part is waiting for the layers to dry… LOL!

Please bring your usual art supplies. If you don’t have a bright pink in your palette, I’ll have extras on hand. Be sure to bring a pencil, eraser, and your favorite watercolor paper.

If you can make it, send me a quick message. And if this week doesn’t work, we can always paint poppies next week instead.
