Lowndes County Historical Society and Museum Located in Valdosta's historic former Carnegie Library, we provide almost 10,000 sq ft of historic displays and research material.

Founded in 1967, The Lowndes County Museum is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich history of Valdosta and Lowndes County, Georgia. The museum grounds also include multiple outdoor exhibits reflecting the community's railroad and agricultural heritage. Museum admission is free of charge. With meeting and guest speaker facilities on site, we host a wide array of gatherings and activities ranging from the Daughters of the American Revolution to book signings by current authors.
