One People Tribe Announces Grand Opening of New Arts N Tech Lab at Norman C. King Center!!!

Vallejo, CA — One People Tribe is proud to announce the grand opening of the new Arts N Tech Lab, a free community computer lab designed to expand broadband access, digital literacy, and creative technology opportunities for residents of South Vallejo and the greater Vallejo community.

The grand opening celebration will take place on Friday, June 5, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 6:00 PM, at the South Vallejo Arts & Cultural Complex at Norman C. King Center, located at 545 Magazine Street, Vallejo, CA. Community members, families, students, seniors, artists, local leaders, and partner organizations are invited to attend, tour the new lab, and learn more about the free resources that will be available to the public.

The Arts N Tech Lab will provide free computer access, high-speed fiber internet, digital literacy support, and creative technology learning opportunities. Community members will be able to build skills in areas such as computer literacy, digital marketing, product design, content creation, small business development, Canva, AI tools, and more. Regular lab hours will be Monday through Friday from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

Funding for this project has been provided in part through a grant by the Broadband Adoption Account of the California Advanced Services Fund, a program administered by the California Public Utilities Commission. The CASF Adoption Account supports programs that increase publicly available and after-school broadband access, digital inclusion, digital literacy training, and public education for communities with limited broadband adoption. The program prioritizes communities facing socioeconomic barriers to broadband access, including low-income communities, senior citizen communities, and communities with demonstrated need.

“This lab is about more than computers — it is about access, opportunity, creativity, and connection,” said Izzy Drumgoole, Founder of One People Tribe – Urban Consulting Group. “By creating a welcoming space where community members can learn digital skills, access the internet, explore creative technology, and receive support, we are helping close the digital divide while opening doors to education, entrepreneurship, workforce development, and creative expression,” added Louis Michael, the newly hired Arts N Tech Lab Manager.

The Arts N Tech Lab is a collaborative project made possible through partnerships with One People Tribe – Urban Consulting Group, Center for Urban Excellence, the City of Vallejo, the Greater Vallejo Recreation District, and the California Public Utilities Commission.

The new lab is part of the broader vision, through coordinated efforts being led by One People Tribe - Urban Consulting Group, to revitalize and recreate the Norman C. King Center by providing culturally rooted, community-centered programming that supports arts, technology, youth development, wellness, entrepreneurship, and civic connection in South Vallejo.
Community members are encouraged to attend the grand opening, explore the lab, meet project partners, and learn how the Arts N Tech Lab can support their personal, educational, creative, and professional goals.
