Painting Info: The name of the painting is “Hidden Treasures.” This art piece incorporates red mangrove driftwood and a painting done with acrylic on canvas. It represents the life that exists within the fragile ecosystem of mangrove trees. The piece was inspired by a piece of mangrove driftwood obtained after a storm on a family member's property in Cudjoe Bay, Monroe County FL. I was assured through writing from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection that the driftwood was obtained legally. I am looking for a home for this painting locally in a public setting but I will consider a private sale. My hope is to bring attention to community efforts to restore and protect the mangroves within the Indian River Lagoon.
