Mike Wood is a native of Vero Beach who strives to bring healthy, fresh ingredients to his restaurant, Wood ‘n Spoon.

Wood n Spoon is open for breakfast & Lunch; serving continental breakfast, homemade soups, salads, crafted sandwiches, ice cream, freshly brewed iced tea and more. Wood graduated from Vero Beach High School in 1998 and has since had a successful career as a general manager and executive chef at restaurants around the country. After receiving an associate’s degree in culinary arts and bachelor’s de

gree in business from Johnson & Wales University in Charleston, South Carolina, he embarked on a 15-year career managing restaurants from Alaska to New York City to Key West. His journey eventually led him back home to his native Vero Beach, where he met his wife, Helen. They have two sons and a new addition arriving in June. Wood is bringing his experience back to his community and hoping to attract customers to his simple, fresh, quick and healthy menu items.

“I wanted to open a restaurant here to bring different flavors from around the country to the locals here who are looking to try different things,” Wood said
