Last Saturday we brought back the Halloween spirit for our first ever Boo!grass Limited train ride! We carried a sold out train of passengers from our West Versailles depot to Abbott Station. Where passengers got to enjoy trunk or treating, games, and delicious apple c***r. If you just so happen to miss this rare train ride, no need to worry! We still have Pumpkin Express rides this Saturday and next Saturday! You better hurry and get your tickets now, because they’re selling out fast! Take the Controls of a Historic Locomotive and Help Flood Relief Efforts for "Whitewater Valley Railroad Museum" located in Connersville, IN!

Don't miss this rare chance to ride and operate a real locomotive while supporting the Whitewater Valley Railroad Museum Flood Relief Fund!

Climb aboard Kentucky Utilities Locomotive No. 001, a 45-ton, General Electric locomotive built in May 1951. This engine is the original locomotive that served the former Tyrone Generating Station, and now you have the opportunity to experience railroad history firsthand.

Your Railroad Adventure
With a minimum donation of just $20, you'll enjoy an unforgettable, hands-on railroading experience:

*Climb the locomotive ladder and step into the cab of this historic engine.

*Ride with one of our qualified engineer trainers as they demonstrate the operation of No. 001 while traveling to our West Switch.

*Then the real excitement begins! Under the supervision of one of our engineer trainers, you'll take your place at the controls and operate Locomotive on the return trip back to the station.

All Aboard for a Great Cause!
Every ride helps support the Whitewater Valley Railroad Museum's flood recovery efforts, making this a unique opportunity to experience the thrill of railroading while helping rebuild their railroad.

Get ready for a **spooktacular Halloween adventure on the rails** at the Bluegrass Railroad Museum!

Dress in your favorite costume and bring the whole family aboard our historic train for an unforgettable fall excursion through the beautiful Kentucky countryside. Along the way, enjoy festive Halloween fun, candy, costumes, and plenty of opportunities to make memories together.

Our journey takes us west through the rolling Kentucky countryside, passing farms, fields, and Thoroughbred horse country before arriving at Abbott Station at the Life Adventure Center.

There, passengers can:

🚂 Throwback Thursday: Steam at the Bluegrass Railroad Museum 🚂

Did you know that two steam locomotives have called the Bluegrass Railroad Museum home over the past 50 years?

🔥 No. 717 was a 0-6-0 saddle tank locomotive (with its water tank mounted over the boiler) built by the H.K. Porter Company for the U.S. Army. She was restored to operating condition and even pulled excursion trains during her time at the museum.

🔥 No. 63 was another 0-6-0, built by ALCO for the Alabama State Docks Commission. Although the locomotive has moved on, her original bell still has a place of honor in our museum.

Both were sold due to the high maintenance costs and the wear and tear on our track.

🚂 Over the years, we've also welcomed several visiting steam locomotives, from the replica Leviathan—which recreated the Lincoln Funeral Train—to Lehigh Valley Coal No. 126 and others that have thrilled visitors on our rails.

🌳🚂 The Views Are About to Get Even Better!

Big things are happening along the line at the Bluegrass Railroad Museum! Our brush-cutting efforts have begun, and over the coming weeks, you'll start to see more and more of the beautiful Kentucky countryside from the train.

As the brush is cleared, new views will open up along the railroad—giving passengers a better look at the rolling fields, wooded landscapes, wildlife, and scenery that make our route so special.

This is just the beginning! 🌿👀 The views are going to keep getting better every time you ride.

We're excited to show you what's coming and can't wait for you to experience the improved scenery from the rails.
