Bailey McGuire and her art will be celebrated at the Community Art Center on First Friday, May 1st!
Bailey is a sophomore at Switzerland County High School and became a member at the Art Center in 2025 when she was juried in following the same process as an adult artist.
She credits her family as her primary inspiration and support. She is the daughter of Bryan and Amanda McGuire of Sanders, KY. The family inspiration extends to her via her grandmother (also an artist), three older brothers, a sister-in-law and even the family's three cats and a dog. Bailey says she's been drawing since her tiny hand could hold a pencil.
Bailey volunteers to work at the gallery and is currently producing a series of videos on Featured Artists. Her interests go beyond her art, as she is involved in the concert, jazz and marching bands at school, as well as drama club. She is also an honor student!
Meet Bailey while enjoying her paintings at the Art Center from 6-9pm on May 1st.
The annual Student Art Show will also be debuting that evening.

Dillsboro Arts Friendship Gallery continues to bring the best and most unique art to our community. This piece, "The American Woman" by Martha Bladen, is a collage of postage stamps, many of them portraying important women from our history. The collage is accompanied by printed biographies of each of the subjects. Come in and see all of the artworks in this Regional Open Call Exhibition on Saturdays 10:00-2:00, Tuesdays 6:00-8:00, or by appointment, until May 30.

The community Art Center in Vevay, Indiana was cited as a special attraction in the WKRC Channel 12 of Cincinnati news reel! We are thrilled to have this opportunity to share the news that we are a vital part of our community- and even better news is that we are a group of 36 active artists - 10 more than what I reported in the news reel!! When WKRC Channel 12 in Cincinnati heard about Vevay's designation as the "Best Small Town in the Midwest", the Community Art Center was thrilled that they decided to come and see for themselves. So we were "over-the-moon" when they stopped by our gallery and visited with our business manager Bev Whitely.
Tune into Channel 12 on Thursday morning, April 30th and hear from several folks from Vevay who will "show & tell" about their love of Vevay!!!

The art center patio!!!! It’s a happening place!!

A swarm of bees stopped by the patio of the Community Art Center before being captured by beekeeper Mike McHugh. All went well and the bees have a new home!
