Making History Part of Everyday Life:

Historian Charles Staats makes history apart of his everyday life. His passion for the Civil War was inspired by his family history which created an interesting path for him and his family. Since September 11, 2001 his passion for fire trucks has consumed him with collecting. A few of his collections are on display such as a horse drawn fire pumper, a water buffalo buggy and a fire chief’s surrey, and horse drawn hose reel cart that date back to 1860. Along with his greatest joy an 1918 American LaFrance triple combination pumper fire truck. All currently housed in a former station house in Villa Ridge, Missouri.

To inquire about bringing a small group to see the fire house collection contact Charles at 314-795-2826 or the Public Relations Officer at the Boles Fire Protection District at 636-742-2515
