A-Happy-in-Your-Heart-Day Book Launch Celebrates Kindness and Emotional Learning

April 12, 2026 | 1:00–3:00 PM | 310 Bellevue Ave, Hammonton, NJ 08037

HAMMONTON, NJ — A-Happy-in-Your-Heart-Day, a new children’s book and social-emotional learning (SEL) program, will launch on Sunday, April 12, 2026, from 1:00–3:00 PM at the Hammonton Family Success Center.

More than a children’s story, A-Happy-in-Your-Heart-Day is a story-centered SEL experience that helps children recognize emotions, practice kindness, and repair difficult moments through creative action. The heartwarming story follows Alex, a boy who doesn’t get everything right but consistently chooses compassion, showing how empathy can brighten even the hardest days.

Designed for classrooms and families, the program combines read-aloud storytelling, guided discussion, and hands-on art activities that reinforce empathy, perspective-taking, and positive decision-making. Children create heart-based art projects that make social-emotional learning tangible and memorable.

The launch event will include a book reading, creative art activities, a book signing, and light refreshments. Meet the author, Hammonton resident Jamie Stephan, and illustrator, Vineland resident Michael Cagno. The event is free and open to the public. Thank you to the Hammonton Family Success Center, a strong pillar of the community!

Calling for artists:

We are excited to invite everyone to the first official Ducktown Madonnari Chalk Art Festival on Saturday May 23rd at Tanger Outlets in Atlantic City. The festival is hosted by Ducktown Community Development Corporation and partnered with North To Shore and Tanger Atlantic City.

This event is inspired by the original Madonnari festivals of Italy, and the many world-renowned festivals throughout the United States. The Ducktown Madonnari aims to be a vibrant, outdoor gallery of city sidewalks and plazas that will be transformed into vivid chalk masterpieces by talented local and regional street artists, right before our eyes.

Beyond art, the festival will offer music, food, interactive community engagement activities, and a Youth and Community Art Zone (sponsored by the Atlantic City Arts Foundation).
