'Tis the season for giving and we were thrilled to hand our holiday gift basked over to lucky winners George and Andrea Hartman.

George and Andrea were present at our Holiday Open House for the big announcement and their ticket was pulled to much applause! 👏

Fun fact: Andrea was a former member of the Vineyard Artisans Festival and they very much appreciated their bounty of handmade items!

🙏 Thank you to everyone who purchased a raffle ticket and supported this important fundraiser, we generated over $1600!

🖼 100% of the proceeds from the raffle will go to the Davin A. Tackabury Memorial Scholarship for the Arts, which benefits students pursuing continued education in the arts.

We are so appreciative of our generous Vineyard community, which really steps up in the spirit of giving. Thank you!

Have you heard the story of how Night Heron Gallery came to be?

13 years ago, a holiday pop-up shop was formed in our current location. At the end of the month, we were offered a leasehold on the property. In the spirit of community and with great excitement for the future, 10 artists collectively dedicated themselves to forming what became the Night Heron Gallery: Martha’s Vineyard’s longest running artist owned cooperative gallery.

We have been successfully operating for 12 years maintaining this enthusiasm and having had the opportunity to promote and feature many talented local artists over the years. The gallery will remain open daily through December 30th from 11am - 3pm. We welcome you to stop by and check out the work of our current eleven artists before we close our doors in the New Year!

🌟 Last day for some last-minute holiday shopping at Night Heron Gallery! 🌟 We're open until 5pm today!

The gift of a Lisa Strachan piece is truly unique. She specializes in beautiful handmade porcelain and stoneware tableware, vases, and more, as well as these stunning handcut copper shorebirds!

Lisa Strachan opened her pottery studio on Martha’s Vineyard in 1995. She’s shown her work at the Vineyard Artisan’s Fair for 26 years. In 2010 she became a founding member of the Night Heron Gallery in Vineyard Haven. Her work is also available to view on her website at https://lisastrachan.com/.

Carolyn Warren is a Martha’s Vineyard based artist recognized for her seaside inspired oil paintings. Born in Munich, Germany, raised in Marblehead, MA she earned her BA in Visual Arts at Boston University and London affiliate.

Her body of work primarily revolves around the representation of sea, land and sky. The focus of Carolyn’s work is to reflect a sense of peace and contemplation through color and light.

You can still view and shop some of Carolyn's pieces at the gallery before the holidays! We are open from 10am - 5pm through Christmas Eve.

We will also be announcing the grand prize winner of our Gift Basket Raffle, which features the works of each of our artists and is valued at over $1,000! Proceeds from the raffle benefit the Davin A. Tackabury Memorial Scholarship for the Arts. You do not need to be present tonight to win!

At this time tomorrow, our Holiday Open House begins! 🎄 Join us tomorrow, Thursday December 22nd from 4 - 7pm for late night last-minute shopping and refreshments. Many of our eleven artists will be in attendance, and we can't wait to meet you!

We will also be announcing the grand prize winner of our Gift Basket Raffle, which features pieces made by each Night Heron Gallery artist, and is valued at over $1,000! It’s not too late to get your tickets!!

Proceeds from our Gift Basket Raffle benefit the Davin A. Tackabury Memorial Scholarship for the Arts. You do not need attend our Holiday Open House to win!

You may have heard the news, and it's true, the Night Heron Gallery will close at the end of the year.

After 12 amazing years, the gallery will be closing its doors so our flock of Herons may spread their wings anew. 🐦

Thank you from all of us here at the Night Heron Gallery for supporting us and our artists, past and present, over the many years we have been in business. 🙏

Please come join us in saying goodbye during our Holiday Open House on the evening of Thursday, December 22. We look forward to seeing you and reminiscing about all of the great times we've shared over the years.

Our last day will be Friday, December 30th.
