Support local theater and history. You are invited to attend, “Land and Liberty, The Vinton Story”. Tickets may be purchased on-line, at the museum, or at the door. Reservations are required for the Friday and Saturday evening dinners. On-line tickets may be purchased through the reputable Give Butter site. The production is a collaboration of the Vinton Historical Society and Roanoke Bear Theatre.

The museum is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, from 10 am to 2 pm through June 12.

The Vinton History Museum Office will be open regular hours (10 am – 2 pm, Monday, Wednesday, Friday) thru Friday, June 12, 2026.

After that date, the Vinton History Museum will be closed til further notice due to preparation and construction of the ADA Lift.

Tours of the museum are not available as of May 26 until the construction is completed.

A little preview of the Roanoke Valley Dulcimer Group practicing, “Chester" an American patriotic hymn composed by William Billings in 1770 and revised for his 1778 hymnal. Serving as an unofficial national anthem of the American Revolution. This will be one of the songs performed for the pre-play entertainment for “Land and Liberty - The Vinton Story”, June 12, 13, 14.

The ADA Accessibility Lift at the Vinton History Museum is closer to being a reality. It's time to start packing to clear the rooms affected for construction.

Several supplies are needed:

Blue painter/masking tape
Bubble wrap
Clean Packing Boxes

If you have extras to share with the museum - they would be greatly appreciated.

The museum is open 10 am - 2 pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday.........or you may leave on the museum porch.
