Hey all! Sooo here's the scoop. I don't live in VA anymore so it seems a little strange for me to be maintaining the historic houses FB pages; any of them. Is anyone interested & feel they could represent adequately?

The 3 historic houses in Virginia Beach said goodbye to 10-year Educator, Starr Donlon on Friday, the 28th. Starr retired from the houses with a smile on her face and warm feeings in her heart for all the wonderful people; staff, volunteers, and guests who visited the houses. Congratulations Starr! A new chapter begins!

"Keeping Cool in the 18th Century"-How did the colonists keep cool in the summer? Try some of their remedies and see if they work! Date: Saturday, August 13, 2011, Time: 2:00 p.m.—4:00 p.m., Place: The Lynnhaven House, Colonial Education Center, 4409 Wishart Road, Virginia Beach, VA. Admission is $3/person, under 3 free.

If you're a fan of the Lynnhaven House, then you'll love tonight's program at the Adam Thoroughgood House. Come out tonight, Friday the fifth of November, for Guy Fawkes Night! From 7pm - 9pm we will meet with some of those involved in the dastardly deed and gather round the bonfire to burn the Guy! Admission is $4 per person. Not recommended for children under 12.

If you're a fan of the Lynnhaven House, than you will love the upcoming program at the Francis Land House! A brand new Halloween program called "Supernatural Samplings" will make your spine tingle with suspense. Date: Saturday, October 23rd. Time: 7-10pm. Cost: $5 per person. No reservations needed.

"Harvest Help Day" at the LH on Saturday from 10am-2pm. Admission is $2 per person. Watch a flax demonstration, meet Tasha the goat and Emma the lamb, see spinning and weaving and meet the blacksmith!
