The Military Aviation Museum features one of the world's largest FLYING collections of historic military aircraft. Each airframe has undergone a painstaking restoration, using original components, whenever possible. Truly a living museum, new aircraft are in restoration at facilities around the world. Simultaneously, the Museum complex, at the Virginia Beach Airport, is being transformed by the installation of additional structures. In 2012, the 1934 Luftwaffe Hangar, originally from Cottbus, Germany, was opened. It now serves to house the Museum's collection of WWII-vintage German aircraft. 🚨 We're launching a community-powered effort to fly the museum’s fully restored Mitsubishi A6M3 Zero fighter aircraft to the Military Aviation Museum's collection. The Zero has completed full restoration and must fly over 2,500 miles in short hops from Everett, Washington to Virginia Beach, VA.

The public will be invited to “Zero Day” when date is announced (TBD).

Step back in time with living history encampments, historical reenactors, military vehicles, family activities and of course our stunning collection of aircraft on static display! A true immersive experience and fun for the whole family.

Main event is Saturday Oct. 3, 9am-5pm.

Howard Baugh Jr. shares a story about his father, Tuskegee Airman Lt. Col. Howard Baugh, and a fellow fighter pilot who chose to stand up against racism and disrespect.

His story is a reminder that courage isn’t only found in combat. Sometimes, it’s the decision to speak up when something isn’t right—and to be the person who takes the first step.
