Our APRIL Guest Artist exhibition is so perfect for this time of year. With pops of vibrant colors and floral inspired pieces, by scratchboard artist DANA FRUETEL

Dana says “Scratchboard is not a fast medium and
larger pieces will often take me a month
to complete. I usually work 4-5 hours a day at my studio at the Art Center in Newton, lowa.”

She says she lives by the motto, My Only Desire is to Inspire.

“This is why I do what I do. It is always my hope that you look at my art and feel a spark of desire to go out and do something that brings you joy. While doing that, your creative passion will spark others, too. I want my art to brighten someone’s day. To make them feel a connection to the rhythm of the Universe.”

You have just over one week left to see our March 2026 exhibition - NEIGHBORHOOD

“Neighborhood” is a small sampling of work by the Wednesday Painters group. Artists who have been gathering together since the early 90s to draw and paint the figure and landscape directly from life. They are committed to art, community, and observation.

During the winter months the group meets to study the figure, and in the warmer months they gather outdoors to paint the landscape of the beautiful Driftless region, coming together from Vernon, Crawford, Richland, La Crosse, and Monroe county.
